Looking for outdoor adventure? Here’s a reason for a weekend in Reno, Nevada. Today launches the 6th annual Reno River Festival on the Truckee River May 8-10, 2009. This outdoors event kicks off at the Truckee River Whitewater Park an Wingfield.

There’ll be an Outdoor Expo all weekend. Kayak white water Open Freestyle competition lights off today at 3:15 p.m. Pro Freestyle competition will begin Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.

The Reno River Festival will offer whitewater clinics, music in the park, fly fishing demonstrations, boatercross competition, and several exciting opportunities to let your hair down for a few days.
