High fashion along high Italian cliffs were properly scaled in Arnette’s Wolfman sunglass series. I packed along a few sets of shades to the Mediterranean, but they stayed in my car while the Wolfman and I went out to play in the eastern sun.
I like a sunglass that has substance when I’m out of door for work and play. The medium size frame covers my eyes from brow to cheek, providing full protection from the sun. Nose pads are integrated into the sunglasses; giving a secure fit on my face, even after perspiration settled in on mile five. It was nice to have the pads hidden into the sleek design of the Wolfman and I enjoyed not feeling a “pinch” along my nose, as other glasses with attached nose pads have done to me from time to time.
Mold-injected hinges make it a breeze to slip the Wolfman on and off the face; and I see the glasses will hold up well in the states, as hectic schedules often place me in and outdoors throughout the day. With no exposed metal along the hinges, Arnette carries a uniform design element throughout; while offering just the right fit and flexibility.
The Arnette Wolfman sunglasses were casually comfortable throughout the day. As I walked near the shore on our Cinque Terre hike, I didn’t worry too much about the glasses falling into the water. The Wolfman design incorporates a buoyant foam which keeps your glasses afloat, just in case you happen to stoop too low for a pristine sand dollar, or gain too much air on your speed boat.
Back in the US, I took the Wolfman for a northern California bike ride along the river and through the forest. The impact-resistant 8D polycarbonate lenses kept my eyes dry from downhill wind gusts and free from flying pests. While the Wolfman is available in polarized and non-polarized lenses, my pair were polarized and I appreciated the high contrasts to steer me clear of deer along the trail.
Redding, California is warm this time of year, so after a long bike ride, a swim in the pool is definitely in order! The Wolfman style provided a straightforward transition from bike trail to pool side. I liked the fact that the black glasses didn’t get very hot on my face. When it was time to take a dip, the Wolfman comes in a full extension hard cover case with soft cleaning cloth. It was nice to place them away in the case for added protection against the elements and a pool side volleyball game.
I chose the matte black glasses, but for those looking for something slightly more sleek, Arnette offers additional color ways in gray transparent or gloss black. Lens colors are available in gray, gray green and polar gray. For $89.95 you can get the standard lens; but for a mere $30.00 more you can get the polarized lens at $119.95, which may be better suited for your activities.
So, whether you are enjoying a beer at the pool, cruising in your Jeep, or whatever the weather is like, the Wolfman is alongside for your fresh air sport and play.
