Laken aluminum water bottles come in several sizes, and all BPA-free. As the movement against Bisphenol A (a synthetic estrogen proven to adversely affect health that is used in many plastics) makes its way to the world of aluminum water bottles, it is becoming increasingly important that effective bottles make known their BPA-free status.

Laken aluminum bottles do just this in their effort to provide health- and environment-friendly products. In a true environmentalist effort, Laken has made all of their aluminum and steel bottles completely recyclable, a quality that highlights the company’s dedication to conserve resources and avoid the use of plastic bottles. This .75-liter Laken aluminum bottle retails between $15 to $20.

The bottles boast a lightweight design that prevents a cumbersome weight once it’s filled. The aluminum structure keeps liquid cold for a reasonable amount of time, though it does heat up quickly in direct heat. The lid of bottle has a useful loop that makes it comfortable to carry or hook onto a backpack when it’s not tucked away in a backpack pocket.

However, there is no attachment for the lid to the bottle, meaning that it’s sufficiently easy to drop and possibly lose the lid if it happens to get away, which is unfortunately what this writer experienced. Even so, the bottle is durable (it endured several tumbles without sustaining so much as a dent) and effective in both day-to-day situations in addition to more adventurous ones.
